PRESENT

ELDER ABUSE NEGLECT & FRAUD:
Identifying, Responding to, and Prosecuting Crimes Against the Elderly

HYBRID-TRAINING (VIRTUAL & IN-PERSON)
Overview: Elder abuse can be defined as an intentional act or failure to act that causes or creates a risk of harm to an older adult. An older adult is someone age 60+. Elder abuse includes physical, emotional, sexual and financial abuse, exploitation, neglect, confinement, and abandonment. Perpetrators are most often a spouse/partner, adult child, or other family member. Many cases are not reported because elders are afraid or unable to tell police, medical professionals, friends, or family about the mistreatment.
