Join the 4C’s Community as they celebrate Black History Month. Where are our Black Girls? Independence House Executive Director, Lysetta Hurge-Putnam has been invited to take part in a virtual panel discussion based on Shirley Chisholm’s best-known quote, “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.” Shirley Chisholm was the first African American woman in Congress (1968) and the first African American woman to seek nomination for president of the United States.
