Presented by the Independence House in partnership with the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. Together we have the power to end gender-based violence. Join us for an interactive workshop that is grounded in the understanding that we are all responsible for the safety of the communities we live in. Learn tools to safely and effectively intervene as a bystander when you witness harm being done. This workshop will be a PowerPoint Presentation followed by role-playing and discussion. This workshop is free but prior registration is required.
Deirdre ‘deer’ Sullivan:
Happily serving as a Counselor and Advocate for victims and survivors of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault at the Independence House in the Orleans office. The natural world is my home, mentor, and inspiration. Anti-oppression work, the creative and expressive arts, mindfulness, nature connection, and play are central in my life’s work in building a healthy community with people of all ages.
Chris Morin
Chris has worked in the field of domestic and sexual violence for 16 years. She has been on staff at Independence House for the past 10 years and is presently the Director of Prevention, Education, and Outreach. Her belief is that we are each responsible to each other for the actions in our community and envisions a world where prevention includes raising our children to choose conflict resolution over violence when solving problems.
