#SoMuchAbuse: Let’s End it Together is a FREE one-day Prevention Conference held on October 1, 2021. This year the conference is being offered virtually to extend our audience spanning far beyond the bridges of Cape Cod.

Hosted by Independence House, Inc., and sponsored by Mass Hire, the 2021 conference is intended to bring together leaders in faith communities, human service providers, business owners, first responders, medical professionals, parents, coaches, high school students and caring citizens. Together we will learn to break society’s collective silence about domestic and sexual violence and create environments where people are safe in their relationships, homes, neighborhoods, schools and work places.

Translation service may be offered in both Portuguese and Spanish and must be requested at the time of registration.  Deadline for requesting translation service is September 15th.

The 2021 Prevention Conference will offer a series of workshops in three topics/tracks:

Faith Communities, offering presentations and panels on Trauma Informed Pastoral Response to Sexual Assault/Intimate Partner Violence, Clergy Response to those who abuse, and Faith Communities role in Prevention.

Community Prevention Strategies, with programming on how and why policies can prevent domestic and sexual violence, and resources/tools to use in the community, after the conference.

Marginalized Communities, hearing a panel of community members who are more vulnerable to abuse because of how they identify, and how policies that acknowledge the intersection of oppressions can be a strategy to prevent domestic and sexual violence.

The tools and resources you take away from this conference will enable you to engage and help end abuse in our community.   Together, We Can End Abuse.
